General Manager - Quality & Technical/Product Design

Role: GENERAL MANAGER - QUALITY & TECHNICAL / PRODUCT DESIGN

Location : Silvassa

JOB DESCRIPTION -

For Products : Aluminium overhead Conductors, OPGW, Copper Railway Products, Copper BUS BAR

Technical & Design :

Design conductor as per Customer requirements to improve conductor efficiency, weight reduction and cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards (e.g. ISO, IS, IEC, ASTM, BS, IEEE).

Prepare GTP / Product data sheet / Drum Drawing with packaging details

Releasing Raw-material specification (RMS) & Plant Technical Specification (PTS) for all stages of manufacturing and dispatch.

Preparing Product/ project specific MQP for plant / Standard ITP for HTGS/ Core material

Releasing Product storage, handling and installation guidelines (Each type of product and or project specific)

For new product Type tests specific documents shall be released and ensure timely executions

Work closely with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to ensure manufacturability.

Quality

Operational excellence and customer delight and revenue generation through cost reductions.

Handling Plant Assessments and Approvals

BIS Certification and Approvals for Various customers/Regulatory requirements

To handle Customer Complaint and give technical Support to Customers

Develop, implement, and oversee the Quality Control strategy for all products

Lead internal & external raw material supplier audits, supplier quality assessments, and customer inspections. & ensure 100% FTR raw materials.

Drive initiatives for process optimization and defect reduction.

Manage customer complaints and corrective action processes (CAPA, RCA, 8D, etc.).

Analyse process quality reports, identify trends, and implement corrective actions for targeting zero deviations/scrap

Manage a team of QC engineers and technicians, providing training and mentorship.

Provide technical support to sales and marketing teams.

Key Skills & Requirements:

Master degree / Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy or Materials Engineering or

Postgraduate / Graduate Degree in Science.

Min. 10 Years of experience on relevant products or min.15+ years of experience in similar type of industries in Quality Control & design department

Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Optimizing designs for cost efficiency and performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for product innovation

Strong knowledge of conductor / cable design principles.

Familiarity with software tools like PLSS CADD, Auto Cad for electrical and mechanical design.

Problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and industries other specific standards.

Knowledge of sustainability trends in conductor / cable manufacturing.
