Manufacturer Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic professional to head the end-to-end operations of our state- of-the-art optical fibre cable manufacturing facility located in Umbergaon, Gujarat. As the General Manager – Plant Operations & Production, you will be entrusted with full operational leadership of the plant, overseeing critical functions such as production, supply chain, procurement, maintenance, quality, safety, human resources, finance, and regulatory compliance.

This is a senior leadership role that demands a results-oriented, hands-on leader capable of driving operational excellence, optimizing productivity, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and aligning plant performance with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide strategic and operational leadership across all plant functions, including manufacturing, procurement, maintenance, quality, HR,                  finance, and administration.

·         Lead production planning and execution to meet delivery schedules, quality benchmarks, and cost targets.

·         Oversee plant budgeting, cost control measures, and financial planning to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.

·         Implement and monitor world-class quality systems and processes aligned with national and international standards for optical fibre products.

·         Champion workplace safety, environmental sustainability, and statutory compliance across all levels of operations.

·         Build, lead, and mentor high-performance teams while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

·         Manage industrial relations effectively and ensure HR policies support a motivated and productive workforce.

·         Liaise with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, statutory authorities, and local agencies to ensure full legal compliance.

·         Collaborate with corporate leadership to drive strategic initiatives and achieve long-term business objectives.

·         Facilitate internal and external audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.

·         Drive innovation and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and exceed customer expectations

Key Requirements:

·       15–20 years of progressive experience in plant operations and manufacturing leadership, preferably within optical fibre or high-precision electrical           product industries.

·     Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems, supply chain management, production planning, engineering, maintenance, quality               assurance, and HR/IR management.

·   Demonstrated success in leading large-scale plant operations, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable performance                          improvements.

·         Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, cost control, and investment planning.

·         Excellent leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Educational Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Production, or related disciplines).

·         MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Business Strategy is highly desirable.
