Assistant Manager R & D

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Ensure R&D activities in compliance with HSEQ and operational requirements.

• Ensure product development projects strictly following the Stage-Gate process.

• Ensure product development project output/milestone in timely manner with good quality and efficiency.

MAIN ACTIVITIES :

• HSEQ: Follow up Company HSEQ policy and procedure; Timely report out if have any concerns about

HSEQ. Adhere to the operation concept of energy saving and environmental protection. Implement

basic energy-saving awareness in daily work and support the company's energy saving and

environmental work.

• Product development & establishment: Develop new products for different durable goods markets with

key focus on footwear, Learn DOE tools and try to use it for formula design, follow Bostik project

management tools (stage gate, clarity, etc). Work with Marketing/Sales, PLM, TS or customer base to

develop and test products for new applications and evaluate new market opportunities.

• Technical Assurance: provide technical support to target/potential customers and Bostik manufacturing

plants. Responsible for scale up of new products from laboratory to full commercialization.

• Innovation & IP: Be the innovator as per the market and organization demand, develop new formula/new

process/new applications/new tools/new test methods based on patents/pater study in related areas.

Submit invention records.

• Knowledge management & reporting: Deliver project documentation and communication in the form of

internal technical reports/presentations and external publications (when appropriate)

• Others: Complete other tasks assigned by line manager

JOB DIMENSIONS :

• Working on water and solvent based PU and rubber adhesives, cleaners, Primers, Hot Melt technology,

2K PU platform to support footwear and other durable goods market segment

• Innovation and development strategy planning and implementation

• Leading and developing the team, coordination with other departments

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT :

• The position is laboratory based but requires domestic/international travel to support R&D related

requirement.

• Regular communication with business team, purchase, SCM, HSEQ and Manufacturing teams.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

• BTech/M Tech/ MS/ or above, in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field required with >8-10 years

of experience in footwear application/market, exposure to other durable good application will be

preferred. OR

• Sound knowledge of footwear applications and technology

• Creative and innovative.

• Very good communication level

• A team Player and team leader
